About Bunbury City Physie Club

At Bunbury City Physical Culture Club (Bunbury City Physie for short), we proudly teach the BJP Physical Culture curriculum. BJP Physie is the oldest running and most prestigious Physical Culture establishment in Australia. For 125 years, BJP has provided a national platform for Physie clubs to come together to engage in competitions and camaraderie.

“Physie is an elegant way of developing not only fitness but also grace, strength and focus in our girls and women. At BJP, what we are most proud of is how Physie weaves its way throughout the lives of Australian families. Generations of women have discovered lifelong friendships, a true sense of community and a sport for life in Physie.” – Jackie Rawlings, BJP Physical Culture

Empowering Girls for Life

There is an aura of confidence around Physie girls of all ages. Taught to stand tall, with strength and pride, they are team players committed to achieving their goals.

Unlike some ballet and dance studios, Bunbury City Physical culture club focuses on developing the self-esteem of its students. By teaching them to have a positive relationship with their bodies, we help students blossom with confidence and self-assurance.

BJP Physie is passionate about nurturing students’ total wellbeing, in both mind and body. Physie is an accepting and encouraging team sport, where every member is supported and motivated to be the best they can be.

Kate Ausden

Kate has had a long association with BJP Physie and has frequently placed at zone level and attended Nationals as a Junior, Senior and Lady.  She has also been a frequent National Finalist.  Kate is the founder of Bunbury City Physie and has a particular passion for teaching ladies returning to Physie after a long break or starting Physie for the first time – she loves the way ladies rise to the occassion and conquer the syllabus every year.  But most of all, Kate really wants BCP to be the happiest of places.  Her Physie club, when she was younger, was her ‘fun’ refuge.  Students should do Physie, have fun and go home enriched and nourished.  There will always be some ups and downs, but the prevailing memories should be joyous and happy. When Kate is not doing Physie she is an employment lawyer specialising in people management, resolution and training and the mother of two children (one of which is a Physie student) and the daughter of a Physie champion (no pressure).

Corinne White

Corinne White began dancing at the age of 3 years old. She studied CSTD Jazz Ballet, Ballet, Tap and Acro. Miss Corinne studied Dance at John Curtin Performing Arts, this is where her love of Ballet grew and decided to study RAD and qualified as a teacher. She has taught at Hope College for the last 3 years, enjoying her love for choreography and organising concert recitals. Her daughter began Physie and she watched how her confidence grew and now would love to see the same for anyone who loves to dance. Corinne’s biggest joy is seeing the girls smiles as they start to believe in themselves – after working hard to achieve their goals.
